Why myYardPros

Anyone can make a backyard look good for a season. We build for the tenth summer.

Northern Virginia is hard on outdoor work. The soil is heavy clay that holds water, swells and shrinks. Winters freeze and thaw, again and again. That is why patios sink, walls lean and decks age before their time.

So we start where the problems start: underneath. Where the water goes. How deep the base is. What the footing sits on. Get those right and everything you see on top stays the way it looked the day we finished.

  1. Water firstWe solve drainage before we build anything over it.
  2. The base you never seeExcavated, compacted and measured, not guessed.
  3. The details you always willClean cuts, tight joints and lines that stay straight.

What we do

Five crafts. One accountable team.

A patio depends on drainage. A deck depends on its footings. A lawn depends on the grade beneath it. We do all five, so nothing falls between contractors.

The reason for all of it

Built for Friday nights, slow Sunday mornings, and everything in between.

The work is stone, lumber and pipe. The point is the time you spend out there.

Our standards

What you can expect from us

No slogans. These are the things we do on every project, and you are welcome to hold us to them.

  1. 01

    We only work on homes

No commercial sites, no mowing routes, no snow contracts. Our crews spend every week on the same kinds of residential yards, slopes, basements and HOAs that you have.

  2. 02

    Water comes first

Before we price a patio, wall or deck, we look at where roof and surface water goes. If drainage needs fixing, we tell you before you spend money on what sits above it.

  3. 03

You see the scope in writing

Your estimate lists what we will excavate, the base depth, the materials, what is included and what is not. You know what you are comparing when you look at other bids.

  4. 04

We handle permits and utility marking

Decks, porches and taller retaining walls usually need a county permit. We prepare the drawings, apply, schedule inspections and have underground utilities marked through Virginia 811 before we dig.

  5. 05

One team from start to finish

The person who walks your yard at the estimate stays involved through the build. Grading, base work, construction and cleanup are coordinated by one company, not passed between strangers.

  6. 06

Local to Sterling, and staying local

We serve Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William and Arlington counties and the cities inside them. Staying close keeps our crews on site instead of on the road, and it means we know the soil and the rules.

How it works

From first call to final walkthrough

Five clear steps, whether it is a single downspout line or the whole backyard.

  1. Tell us what you need

Call or send the estimate form with a short description and your address. Photos help. We confirm you are in our service area and set a time to visit.

  2. On-site visit

We walk the property with you, measure, check slopes and drainage, and talk through options, materials and budget. You get straight answers, including when a smaller fix will do.

  3. Written estimate

You receive a written scope and price that spells out excavation, base, materials and finish details, plus any permit or HOA steps and a realistic schedule.

  4. Build

We mark utilities, protect the lawn and surrounding areas, and build to the written scope. You get updates as the job moves, and we raise surprises with you before acting on them.

  5. Walkthrough

We walk the finished work with you, show you how it drains and how to care for it, clean up the site and close out any permit inspections.

Questions homeowners ask before they call

What services does myYardPros offer?

We offer five groups of residential services in Northern Virginia: hardscaping (paver patios, walkways, retaining walls, driveways and fire pits), decks and porches (new decks, composite decking, screened and covered porches, repairs), lawn and landscape (landscape design and planting, sod, aeration and overseeding, lighting, artificial turf), water management (sprinklers, irrigation upgrades, French drains, yard drainage, downspout lines) and exterior cleaning.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Fairfax County, Loudoun County, Prince William County and Arlington County, along with the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas and Manassas Park. We are based in Sterling. We do not take projects outside these jurisdictions.

Is myYardPros licensed and insured?

Yes. myYardPros is a licensed and insured Virginia contractor. Ask us for our license and insurance details at your estimate, and verify any contractor you are considering through the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation license lookup before you sign.

Do you work on commercial properties or do lawn maintenance?

No. We work on residential properties only, and we do not offer mowing, tree removal, snow removal or recurring maintenance plans. Everything we do is project work: we design it, build or install it, walk it with you and hand it over finished.

Do I need a permit for my project?

It depends on the project and the county. Decks, porches and roofed structures generally need a building permit, and so do retaining walls that hold back more than about three feet of soil. Most patios, walkways and drainage work do not, though HOA approval is common. We confirm the requirements for your address and handle the application.

How do I get an estimate?

Call (571) 200-9600 or send the estimate form with your address and a short description of the project. We will schedule a visit, look at the site with you and send a written estimate that lists the scope, materials and price.
