Privacy policy, in plain language
When you ask a contractor for an estimate, you hand over your name, your phone number and your address. You deserve to know where that goes. This policy explains what the myYardPros website collects from Northern Virginia homeowners and other visitors, what we do with it, who else is involved, and how to ask us to show you or delete your information.
What does this privacy policy cover?
Last updated October 1, 2026.
This policy covers the myYardPros website and the information it handles. It describes what the site does in ordinary words.
The short version is this. We collect the details you type into the estimate form so that we can reply to you. The site estimates your general location from your IP address so that it can show the nearest service area and phone number. Site search is handled by the site itself. We do not sell personal information. You can ask to see or delete what we hold about you at any time by emailing upgrade@myyardpros.com or calling (571) 200-9600.
What information does the estimate form collect?
The form collects only what you choose to enter. These are its fields.
- Name
- So that we know whom we are replying to when we call or write back about your request, and whose project the estimate is for.
- Phone number and email address
- So that we can contact you about your request, arrange a visit to the property and send your written estimate once it is ready.
- Property address or ZIP code
- So that we can confirm the property is inside our service area and know where the project would take place before we schedule a visit.
- Service selected
- The type of work you are asking about, such as drainage, a patio or a deck, so that your request reaches someone who can answer it properly.
- Your message
- Whatever you choose to tell us about the project. Please do not include sensitive details that we do not need in order to prepare an estimate.
- Heroes Discount
- Whether you have indicated that the Heroes Discount applies to you, so that it can be taken into account when your estimate is prepared.
How is my estimate request used and stored?
Your estimate request is used to respond to you and to prepare your estimate. When you submit the form, two things happen. The request is sent by email to myYardPros, and a copy is stored in the website's database.
We use the details to contact you, to confirm that your property is in our service area, to schedule a visit and to write your scope and price. We do not sell personal information, and this policy does not describe any advertising trackers on the site.
If you would rather not use the form at all, you can call (571) 200-9600 and tell us about your project by phone. The Heroes Discount page explains who qualifies, and how it works explains what happens after you send a request.
Why does the site look up my approximate location?
The site looks up an approximate location from your IP address so that it can show you the nearest service area and the phone number for it. An IP address is the number your internet connection uses to reach a website. From it, a general area such as a city or region can usually be estimated. It is not your street address, and the estimate can be wrong.
To do this, the site uses a third-party geolocation service, which means that service receives your IP address in order to return the approximate location. The site may then remember the result in your browser's local storage, so that it does not have to look it up again on every page. Local storage is kept on your own device, and you can clear it at any time through your browser's settings for site data.
Who else is involved in running the site?
A website does not run on its own. These are the outside services this policy describes.
Hosting provider
The site is hosted by a third-party hosting provider. Like most web hosts, it keeps standard server logs, which typically record things such as IP addresses, the pages requested and the time of each request.
Geolocation service
A third-party service receives your IP address and returns an approximate location, which the site uses to show the nearest service area and phone number.
Site search
When you use the search box, your query is sent to the myYardPros site itself, which looks through its own pages and returns the results.
How can I see or delete my information?
You can ask to see or delete the information we hold about you by emailing upgrade@myyardpros.com or calling (571) 200-9600. Tell us the name, phone number or email address you used on the form, so that we can find your request.
You are also in control of what you share in the first place. Every field on the estimate form is something you choose to type, and you can always call instead. The approximate location that the site may remember lives in your own browser, where you can clear it yourself.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. If anything here is unclear, ask us. You can also read more about the company on the about page.
